Going to Limassol to Dive

HomearrowGoing to Limassol to Dive

As the second largest city in Cyprus, Limassol has plenty of beaches and beautiful diving spots to explore. Many UK citizens have found it to be one of the best places to learn to dive, or to expand their diving skills. Diving courses are available at nearly every water spot in Limassol, but finding the best price for a course can be as tricky as finding treasure in an underwater wreck.

The majority of diving courses in Limassol are PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instrutors) run, closely followed by the more traditional BSAC (British Sub-Aqua Club) methods. Basic snorkelling courses, scuba diving and underwater photography courses can all be found in this idyllic water city. This is why it is essential to look for the best deals possible. With some 300 days a year of water temperatures ranging from 15-30 degrees centigrade, the diving industry runs almost year round so seasonal discounts are unlikely.

Limassol boasts a number of superb snorkelling spots, and for experienced divers a look at the Zenobia wreck is highly recommended. Who knows, you may get lucky and find enough treasure to pay for your diving gear and instruction. Seriously, as an experienced diver you may be able to use enough of your own equipment to cut down on hire costs. Snorkelling is a good option for beginners. There are a number of fish reserves that promise a great experience, and the vertical wall at Akrotiri Peninsula is also recommended if you are staying nearby.

Diving is a wonderful adventure in Limassol. Don’t get caught out, however, by the sometimes exorbitant prices of dive centres. Look for the best deal at the best price to make the most of your diving adventure.
